What is WebNeuro? Why should I take the test?
In order to ‘tune up' your brain, you need a way to measure your progress. Brain Resource's WebNeuro toolkit is meant for just such a purpose, and is offered free for a limited time through a partnership with the Alliance for Aging Research and Brain Resource Company.
WebNeuro is quick but thorough, uses the Internet, and is designed to identify your brain strengths and weaknesses focusing on memory, ability to process and control complicated information, attentional capacity, some language skills, and emotional brain capacity. WebNeuro has been shown to be both reliable and valid. The results are anonymous and it can be taken in the privacy of your own home. You will receive a personalized report upon completion . The report itself compares your performance with others of the same age and gender who have also used the tool. All data obtained is treated as strictly confidential, and results are not associated with your identifying information.
WebNeuro is particularly well suited for cognitive screening or monitoring changes in your brain function over time. In this regard, we recommend that it be re-taken every 3-6 months, for which you will be charged a small fee. Screening is the first step to differentiating, for example, between memory decline that is a normal part of aging and memory loss that may be part of a medical condition, and which may warrant further consultation.
By offering easy access to the steps for a healthy brain and WebNeuro, the Alliance for Aging Research and Brain Resource Company aim to make users more aware of their brain health.
WebNeuro and the information it provides is part of an international effort to find new insights into the normal aging process and to learn more about brain diseases, including finding and evaluating new treatments [visit the Brain Research pages to learn more]. The data from this toolkit helps us to build a brain database, which will be used scientifically to further research into normal aging; and commercially, to evaluate, for example, new treatments for brain diseases. A large database of this kind is a powerful tool to help define what is normal brain function (and what is not) across the human lifespan.
WebNeuro was developed by Brain Resource Ltd. Brain Resource is a publicly listed company that provides evidence-based assessments about brain function for testing new drugs and clinical management. Brain Resource has set up the first standardized international database on the human brain.
